Licensed Mental Health Therapist (Adolescent Program)
Jennifer Temps is seeking a compassionate and experienced Licensed Mental Health Therapist to support an adolescent interdisciplinary treatment program serving students in grades 6–12. This rewarding opportunity is ideal for clinicians who are passionate about helping youth and families through individual, group, and family therapy while working collaboratively with schools, medical professionals, and community partners.
Your Tasks
- Maintain a caseload of approximately eight (8) adolescents enrolled in the IDT program (Grades 6–12)
- Participate in interdisciplinary admissions with students, families, physicians, and school liaisons
- Provide weekly individual therapy sessions
- Facilitate daily therapeutic group sessions
- Conduct family therapy and crisis intervention services as needed
- Coordinate transition meetings with students, families, school staff, and community professionals
- Collaborate with participating schools, agencies, and community providers
- Serve as an active member of the interdisciplinary treatment team
- Attend and contribute to weekly treatment team meetings
- Advocate for youth and families by connecting them with appropriate community resources and supportive services
- Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant medical record documentation
- Complete discharge planning and post-discharge follow-up
- Work closely with school liaisons throughout Orange County to support referrals, screenings, and continuity of care
Our requirements
- Master's Degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, or a related behavioral health field
- Current New York State professional license required (LMSW, LCSW, LMHC, or equivalent)
- Experience working with adolescents in behavioral health, mental health, educational, or community-based settings preferred
- Knowledge of crisis intervention, family systems, and evidence-based therapeutic practices
- Strong documentation, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary treatment team
- Proficiency with electronic medical records and Microsoft Office applications
