Data Analyst
Jennifer Temps is seeking a detail-oriented Data Analyst to support traffic data review and analysis within a structured government environment in Albany, NY. This role is ideal for individuals with strong analytical skills who can evaluate data accuracy, identify patterns, and make informed decisions.
Your Tasks
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and review traffic count data for accuracy and completeness
- Validate data using historical trends and nearby traffic patterns
- Utilize Drakewell software for traffic data review
- Use Microsoft Office, Google Maps/Earth, GIS tools, and file management systems
- Make independent determinations regarding data acceptance or rejection
- Maintain detailed records (electronic and written)
- Communicate findings and prepare documentation for contractors
- Manage correspondence related to accepted/rejected data
- Handle contractor inquiries related to data discrepancies
- Perform database management and data entry tasks
- Collaborate with team members to ensure consistency and accuracy
Our requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred (Data, Business, Geography, or related field)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Ability to interpret data and identify trends/patterns
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently after training
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with GIS, data analysis, or traffic/transportation data
- Experience working with databases or data validation processes
- Familiarity with mapping tools (Google Maps/Earth)
- Experience in government or structured data environments
- Pay Range: $22.00 – $36.00 per hour (depending on experience)
